Employees Of Kathmandu Demands Hike In Fuel Allowance
Kathmandu. A research conducted by JPTBCNC has
discovered,that the average
traffic speed in capital city has come down to 12 km/hour.
Dhairya Lal, a banker by
profession, who travels from Kapan to Jawalakhel every day says in last 3 years
he has not got any increment, but his fuel bill has gone up by 300%.
He expects soon he will be
promoted as Senior Officer. To manage the main deal he needs to reach office
before 9 . He does a plain math using excel sheet to find out how much money
he has to spend on his fuel bill.Surprisingly, he discovers his fuel bill is
already more than his car’s EMI and by next 2 years it will be more than his
EMI of home loan.
He has also understood, one of the few days he was able to have lunch
& dinner with his family members, expressing gratitude to "Sahid Diwas" which is a holiday for
school, college and Government offices & Banks as well. From bottom
of their hearts the family thanked the great martyrs and have put a framed
photo of idealists on their living room.
Dhairya is demanding adaptable
traffic-jam. Banks citing credit crunch informs union to pressurize government to
share this burden.
JPTBCNC did a study to
find out the petrol pump owners, street hawkers have made good money due to
traffic jams. Even hospitals have made good money as more and more service holders are visiting them. Bars, restaurants and pubs are feeling the heat and demand
revenue sharing from those who are making windfall gains.
Mr. Lal is pleasantly amazed
about a thing. Thanking to the traffic-jams, his daughter is capable to verify
the difference between color of number plates and organizations related to it.
Even teachers have accepted traffic jams are helping child in learning
alphabets and number very easily.
Traffic
jam is now an integral part of Kathmandu lifestyle.
